GROW High School Retreat

At our High School Retreat last weekend Josh Suddath taught us a helpful acronym to remember in the process of spiritual growth.

G - God's grace - It is only by God's grace that we can be saved and all of our growth is initiated by him.  You don't make yourself grow, Go gives the increase.

R - Repentance - It is God's grace that leads us to repentance and as he grows us he continually leads us to a life of greater and greater repentance.

O - OH! - Sometimes God does things so incredible that all we can do is stop and cry "Oh Lord!" in worship to him.

W - Word - It is God's word that allows us to see him and learn his will, as well as see ourselves in our remaining sinfulness.  Yet Christ makes us righteous at the foot of the cross.

GROW - October 15-17

Attention High School parents!!
October 15-17 we will be taking our high school students to Blairsville for a special High School only retreat. Our main speaker for the weekend will be Josh Suddath, and we will also have some teaching from some of our very own leaders.  Josh will be focusing on how we can grow in Christ by continually learning more and more about what he did for us and the message of the Gospel.  The whole Bible shouts the good news of the person of Christ and his work of redemption on our behalf.  I cannot wait to learn from what Josh has to share with us as well as hear stories of growth from some of the leaders we have come to know.  The total cost for the trip will be $50 and we will need payment by October 3rd if your student plans to join us.

Roadsigns for Youth

Have you ever been driving on an unfamiliar road and started to get the feeling you might be getting lost?  Have you ever been desperate for a roadsign to help guide your path?  In Sunday night youth we're looking at the importance of finding and following those signs to the strait path God has planned for each of us.

Here are some things we'll be discussing...

8/29 Caution: When you see a warning sign, turn around! (Pro 27:12; John 5:37-40)
9/12 Yield: God's direction begins with your surrender. (1 Kings 3)
9/19 Rest Stop: Who or what has captured your attention?  (Ps 119:35-37; Pro 4:25-27)
