This video is a beautiful reminder of our coming king this Christmas. The children of Israel literally groaned in expectation of their restoration at the coming of this king of whom Isaiah spoke. This king was to be God with us (Is 9:7) and he would suffer on out behalf (Is 53). Let's turn and worship him for his coming this Christmas!

Cape Town 2010
Right now in Cape Town, South Africa there are 4000 Christian leaders from all over the world gathered together to discuss the state of world evangelization. These leaders have traveled great distances and risked their safety (220 Chinese delegates were detained by their government) to attend this large meeting.
We should be praying as a church and as families for this historic meeting.

- Pray for Christians brotherhood in the midst of cultural and racial differences.
- Pray that Christ would be honored and his kingdom expanded because of this great event!

The Known Universe
I found this to be a fascinating video from the American Museum of National History about the known universe. It includes some discussion of evolutionary theory, but I believe when approached from a different worldview this video proclaims what David writes in Psalm 19. This would be a great video to watch as a family and then read Psalm 19 together. See also Genesis 1:16, Isaiah 40:26, Psalm 147:4, and Psalm 89:11.

What in the world are you doing to encourage others with your words?
People all over the world are putting life on hold right now to watch their favorite teams compete in the world cup. This is an event that creates a kind of extreme fanaticism that cannot be matched by other events. People love their teams and cheer their hearts out when their team steps onto the field.
Yesterday at 252 your kids were taught about how encouragement can be like a pep rally, or even a world cup came. When you encourage someone, your cheering them on. You're letting them know that you're on their side, and you're their fan. In 252 the kids heard about the difference between "loser" words (words that hurt people) and "winner" words (words that lift people up). Ask your kids what some of these words are, and then ask them what they should do this week to better encourage a sibling, or neighbor, or family member.
Fell free to send them my way, I could always use some more encouragement. Couldn't we all?
