About Family Ministry

As a church we have been constantly bombarded over the last several years by the constant statistics of young people who grow up in the church but then leave the church during their college years.  Some studies have shown the percentage of those leaving to be as high as 88% while others have put the number much lower.  Whatever the actual percentage it is far too high.  So our church attempted to find a new approach to children's and youth ministry.

We found some guidance in the people at Orange.  Orange is an organization that attempts to work with churches to leverage the influence of churches and families in order to maximize the impact on a child's life.  We find some of the resources from Orange to be very helpful in our understanding of Family Ministry.  We specifically use the 252 Basics curriculum with our kids ages 3-5th grade, and we often use the XP3 Students curriculum with our youth.

We also use some of our own ideas and resources to develop our own understanding of family ministry.  If you want to know more about what we mean by Family Ministry come check us out.  We would love to get to know you and your students!
